REGROW Project Updates

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, began an Inspection Tour of the REGROW/Tourism South Projects today.

The Southern Tourism Growth Project (REGROW), focused on one of the four Projects across various Parks in the Country which is the construction of the Airport, which currently handles up to 12 Flights and around 250 Passengers per day.

The focus of the Project was on Mikumi National Park, where considerable efforts are underway to enhance the Royal Tour’s objectives. The modernization of the Airport is believed to be a key aspect of the Project, aiming to accommodate more Flights and Tourists as well as contribute to additional income for the Government.

The Project is set to be completed by July next year, where the 1.8-kilometer runway would not just accommodate 160 Passengers but also facilitate the landing of a larger Airplane carrying up to 70 People.
